Partnering for Safety Excellence
Ethos will commence the Empowering Supervisor workshops with SSE Renewables in February 2025, we’ve spent the past year fine-tuning their training requirements. SSE Renewables aims to run interactive workshops that equip their supervisors with the tools to lead safety conversations effectively, fostering a culture of health and safety mindfulness within their teams.
Ethos’s extensive experience in delivering this type of training made us a natural fit for their needs. To date, we have conducted two pilot workshops with SSE Renewables:

Workshops Designed to Make an Impact
Empowering Supervisors Workshop
This workshop focuses on helping supervisors lead by example and engage their teams in meaningful safety conversations. Participants leave with:
- A deeper understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) mindfulness.
- Skills to identify hazards effectively and embed a consistent language of risk.
- Tools to align leadership practices with SSE Renewables’ safety philosophy, fostering a "Safety Family" culture.
- Insights into promoting psychological safety within teams, creating a fearless organisation where allowing people to speak their mind is paramount.
- Enhanced communication skills for discussing risks, commending safe practices, and addressing unsafe behaviours using a coaching approach.
- A personal action plan for implementing these skills in their daily work.
Psychological Safety Scan Workshop
In collaboration with the Amy C. Edmondson and The Fearless Organization, this workshop assesses the psychological safety within teams. Participants complete a survey, receive individual scan reports, and engage in a facilitated session to understand their scores and identify actions to improve their team's psychological safety.
This pilot workshop was not only beneficial for SSE Renewables’ HSE function team but also marked a significant milestone for Ethos as we progress toward official accreditation to deliver Fearless Organization workshops.
